AGV Intelligent Unmanned Handling Vehicle: Functions, Technologies and Applications
In warehousing or production logistics, the AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) intelligent unmanned handling vehicle serves as an auxiliary equipment, mainly responsible for material handling. Its handling tasks usually come from WMS (Warehouse Management System) or MES (Manufacturing Execution System). Cooperating with other equipment, the AGV fulfills the functions of material inbound and outbound, covering various links such as raw material inbound, raw material outbound, finished (semi-finished) product inbound, and finished (semi-finished) product outbound.
The intelligent control technology of the AGV intelligent unmanned handling vehicle is the core for its automated operations. The control system adopts high-performance processors and advanced algorithms to conduct real-time monitoring and analysis of various parameters of the AGV, and realizes autonomous control through decision-making algorithms. The intelligent control system has the following functions:
Autonomous Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance: Based on the electromagnetic navigation path as the basic reference, the intelligent control system can automatically plan the optimal driving trajectory, real-time identify and avoid obstacles in the operation area, and realize unmanned autonomous operation throughout the whole process.
Intelligent Object Search and Scheme Adaptation: The AGV can accurately search for materials to be handled within the specified operation range, simultaneously collect key parameters such as the real-time position and weight of the items, and quickly generate a highly adaptable personalized handling execution scheme.
Multi-AGV Collaborative Operation: In response to batch task requirements, multiple AGVs can realize information interconnection through the collaborative scheduling system, dynamically complete path optimization and task allocation, and greatly improve the overall operation throughput and scheduling efficiency.
Adaptive Intelligent Charging: When it’s power drops to a preset threshold, the intelligent control system will automatically trigger the charging process, independently plan the path to go to the charging station for energy supplement, and immediately return to the task breakpoint to continue the operation after charging is completed, ensuring the continuity of operations (realized by relying on path planning and navigation technology as the core).
The AGV obtains real-time information about its own position and posture through sensors, thereby realizing path navigation. Currently, with the application of new technologies, including the promotion of Beidou navigation, natural visual navigation and other new technologies, the path planning and navigation capability of AGVs has been significantly improved. Through years of practical application, the AGV intelligent unmanned handling vehicles currently in practical application have the characteristics of strong anti-interference ability, high positioning accuracy and good reliability, and can meet the operation needs of various complex environments.
Safety Guarantees
a. Obstacle Avoidance Function: The AGV intelligent unmanned handling vehicle is equipped with various sensors, such as lidar, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, etc., which are used to detect the surrounding environment to avoid collisions with personnel, vehicles or objects on the path.
b. Visual Recognition: By analyzing the images collected by the camera, it identifies information such as the shape and color of objects, and realizes target search and tracking.
Value Display in Multi-Scenario Applications
In automobile manufacturing plants, it undertake the important task of component distribution. From large components such as engines and gearboxes to small parts such as screws and nuts, they can be accurately and efficiently delivered to various workstations on the production line.
In the 3C electronics manufacturing industry, it focus on handling precision electronic components. With their precise positioning and stable operation, they have successfully solved the handling problems of small size and easy damage of electronic components.
The warehousing and logistics field is also an important area where WAGO AGVs play a role. It closely cooperates with the warehouse management system to realize the rapid sorting, handling and storage of goods, which greatly improves the order processing efficiency.
