If you’ve spent any time on a workshop floor, you know the pattern. Forklifts crisscross all day, and half the trips are empty forks on their way to pick something up. In a battery plant, where cells, modules and packs keep moving between stations, that traffic adds up — in time, in labor, in scrap risk. One of our customers in Jiaozuo ran straight into this. They make lithium batteries end to end: materials, cells, modules, battery packs. Their own “Fluorine Core” series powers electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, new energy vehicles, and energy storage systems. They hold national high-tech enterprise and national green factory certifications. A green factory doesn’t stay green with fuel exhaust hanging in the air.So they called us about an electric transfer cart.
Their workshop moves heavy workpieces along fixed routes between stations — several tons at a time. A forklift can handle that, but it’s a poor fit:
What they wanted was simple to say: carry heavy loads on a set route, all day, without drama.
| Aspect | Forklift | 5t Transfer Cart with Robotic Arm |
| Single-trip capacity | Limited — frequent shuttling | Larger — fewer trips |
| Route control | Variable | Fixed route, precise positioning, no deviation |
| Emissions | Fuel exhaust | Zero — pure electric |
| Noise | Higher | Low |
| Start/stop behavior | Can jolt loads | Gentle — workpiece-safe |
| Operating cost | Fuel + maintenance + labor | Battery power + simple maintenance |
| Operator training | Specialized | Simple — ordinary workers |
| Enclosed workshop fit | Poor | Built for clean production areas |
The battery power supply is the piece that matters most. No cable reel trailing behind, no exhaust, no fumes. It’s quiet enough that people working beside it don’t have to raise their voices. The remote control keeps the operator clear of the load path — press the button, watch it work. A short training session is all a new operator needs.
A 5-ton load doesn’t stop on a dime, and it doesn’t need to. The cart pulls hard, runs steady when fully loaded, and takes slopes without slipping. On rails, positioning stays precise and the route never drifts — no steering corrections, no “let me straighten it up” moments mid-aisle.
Against forklifts, the arithmetic is simple: bigger load per trip, fewer trips, no fuel, less noise, fewer things to break. Maintenance stays light and the power bill is small, which is what you want when the cart runs all shift, every shift.
Their words, not ours:
For fixed-route, high-volume material handling, that’s the whole argument.
Battery production is a clean-room-ish environment in practice: people care about dust, fumes and floor space. A battery-powered cart fits that world better than any combustion machine. The loads are heavy, the routes are fixed, and the same line that moves cells today will likely want automated handling tomorrow. Which brings us to the next step.
A battery-powered (or cable-powered) cart that moves heavy loads along a fixed route in a factory — rail-guided or trackless — controlled by remote or pendant. It replaces forklifts for repetitive, fixed-route material handling.
The cart in this project is rated at 5 tons. We build electric transfer carts in a wide range of capacities — tell us your heaviest workpiece and we’ll size one to it.
The cart in this case is rail-guided because the plant’s routes are permanent. If your routes change often, the trackless version with the robotic arm is the one to look at.
Yes. Battery power means no exhaust and low noise, which is exactly what an enclosed battery plant needs.
Every workshop moves different loads. Send us your floor plan and your heaviest workpiece, and we’ll come back with an electric transfer cart sized to fit — no redesigning the building around it.
