Conductive Polyurethane Wheels

Air Drive Option

Flameproof Electrical Boxes

Non-Sparking Components

Description

Overview

Standard electric carts aren’t allowed past the paint booth door. Batteries vent gas. Motors arc. That’s fine in a clean bay, not in a room full of solvent.

The BWP-15T EXis built to not make sparks. That’s the only rule that matters in there.

It pushes 15 tons on solid wheels, steers where you point it, and stops without a dry brake that could flash.

Parameters

Key Features

Ex d IIB T4 Gb Drive

Motor and controller live in cast housings. Anything that arcs stays trapped. Shell stays below 135°C—ethylene won’t catch.

Conductive Polyurethane Wheels

Carbon-black tread, copper core. Static leaks out through a brass ground strap dragging on the floor.

Air Drive Option:

For applications requiring completely electric-free operation, an air-powered drive system is available.

Flameproof Electrical Boxes:

Terminals, fuses, and contactors are protected inside Ex d or Ex e enclosures with IP65 protection. No exposed electrical connections are used.

Non-Sparking Components:

Stainless steel fasteners and brass fittings reduce the possibility of mechanical sparks caused by metal impact.

Certified Protection:

Each ATEX explosion proof transfer cart is supplied with identification plates, certificates, and technical documents required for hazardous area applications.

Process

Where It Works

Paint & Powder Coating Booths:

Production racks move into the coating area, stay during spraying, and move out afterward. Forklifts remain outside while the explosion proof transfer cart handles transportation inside the hazardous zone.

Tank Farm Shutdown Areas:

Valve skids and heavy components can be transported using the air-drive version. Plant air powers the system without introducing electrical sparks near flammable vapors.

Solvent & API Filling Lines:

Drum pallets can be transferred between filling stations and storage areas. Grounding systems help control static electricity during operation.

Defense / EOD Facilities:

Special containers and equipment can be moved on a fully grounded chassis designed for controlled hazardous environments.

Notes

Why Use It

No Ignition Sources:

Electrical components are enclosed, grounded, or removed completely. The system is designed to minimize possible ignition risks.

Complete Documentation:

Nameplates, certificates, and inspection documents are supplied with the cart to support safety approval processes.

No Rails Required:

Unlike rail transfer carts, the trackless design allows flexible movement around columns and existing equipment without installing permanent tracks.

Simple Operation:

Forward, reverse, speed adjustment, and emergency stop functions are easy for operators to learn and use.

    FAQ

Q: Can the explosion proof transfer cart operate inside a paint booth?

A: Yes. The BWP-15T EX is designed for hazardous areas such as Zone 1 and Zone 2 paint environments. The Ex d protection system prevents internal ignition sources from reaching the surrounding atmosphere.

Q: What is the difference between Ex d and Ex ia?

A: Ex d protects equipment by containing internal explosions inside a flameproof enclosure. Ex ia limits electrical energy so the circuit cannot generate enough spark or heat to ignite hazardous gases.

Q: How does the pneumatic drive version work?

A: Compressed plant air drives the pneumatic motor through explosion proof control components. This eliminates the need for an electric traction motor in hazardous areas.

Q: Why use conductive polyurethane wheels instead of steel wheels?

A: Steel wheels may create impact sparks in certain conditions. Conductive polyurethane wheels provide smooth operation while helping discharge static electricity safely.

Q: Are certificates provided with the cart?

A: Yes. The cart can be supplied with ATEX/IECEx documentation, inspection reports, and hazardous area classification information.
